Counselling and Hypnotherapy
Welcome
Welcome, and thank you for visiting my website. My name is Shelley, and I am an experienced, professionally qualified Psychotherapeutic Counsellor and Hypnotherapist offering face-to-face counselling or hypnotherapy in Cosham, Portsmouth and online nationally.
I am an accredited member of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS.com) and the National Hypnotherapy Society (nationalhypnotherapysociety.org) and am bound by their codes of ethics.
Life can be challenging and often brings surprises and change. Navigating life’s events can be difficult and sometimes help is needed to understand what is happening or to resolve feelings and issues.
You may feel confused and disorientated. Maybe you have unexplained symptoms like panic attacks, or difficulty sleeping at night, or a lack of motivation and satisfaction at work. You might be trying to figure out feelings of unhappiness, destructive behaviours or repeated patterns in relationships. Whatever the issue, you do not have to cope alone.
Coming to counselling, opening up to someone and talking about the things that are troubling you is not easy, it takes courage and can be scary. I understand how important it is that you feel secure and comfortable with me and this is why I am committed to providing a welcoming, safe, confidential, and non-judgmental environment where you can speak freely and seek the support that you need at this time.

I believe that the best therapy is one that can adapt to the person who needs it, because we are all different with unique life experiences. I therefore work from a Pluralistic perspective covering Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Humanistic and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) counselling modalities so that I can offer a client-led and holistic approach that is individual to your needs and goals. You will be treated with understanding and respect and together we will work on identifying and exploring the issues that are affecting you with the aim of achieving a long-lasting positive impact on your wellbeing.
Coming to counselling is a step you will not regret so when you are ready, please feel free to get in touch.
